Hi Carole, have you always had an interest in espionage or, did you have to do a lot of research for Spying On Strange Men?
Also, your locations have a minimalist, oriental feel, were you inspired at all by Eastern travels?
I’ve always loved wigs and sunglasses and been a bit of a nosey parker. Grandfather Money gave me a walkie talkie and I used to follow Strange Men and make reports about them to my brother who had a James Bond Spy Kit.
I dressed in character, as Emma Peel, and also dabbled in art from an early age. My first installation was a dead bluebottle on a fork which I stuffed up my sleeping dad’s nostril.
I wrote part of Spying on Strange Men while living in Beijing though the story is set in London.
